Communist Capitalism ....

Indulge me... Its hard to be a Capitalist. Maximizing personal gains is not seen as a good trait in most part of the world. Some cultures (like our own) and people out-rightly reject the idea... some indulge in crony capitalism...and some others in selective capitalism. Society pressure and exposure losses had made people conscious, and there are new forms evolving. There are Capitalist with Socialist heart... Communist with Capitalist outlook... and Capitalist with Communist hearts.

Here in UK, people are concerned over corporates making huge profits. Their communist hearts quinch when they hear BP making huge profits in a year which saw fuel prices rocking some economies... Banks making huge profit when people don’t have food to eat and houses to live in...and very recently... when some corporate big shots earn obscene amount of money (its does look obscene). To be honest... it does hurt if someone is making so much money when I can’t even afford a BMW 5 series... But do these people feel sorry for those poor people... or is it just plain personal jealousy.

I feel sad for these guys. They will now be embarrassed and ashamed for the excellent job they are doing (for themselves and their company)... their hard work... their excellence... and above all, the reward which they deserve. I believe that one should get what his talent and hard work deserves. If these guys don’t deserve the fat cash they are getting then I would balme Barclays and let their shareholders worry about it. All said and done... its none of my business...and a bad form to be jealous.

to appease your ever present want for sharing of thoughts, here is another view to capitalism. from one who is a socio-capitalist. We will need to look at the roots, as i understand, and then understand what and why of the current state of mind. Should we say, my current state of mind.

Lets start with corporations making huge amounts of profit. First up, the government draws power or authority from society. and its desires to live in an ordered world. the government is merely the vehicle to get that implememented, and serviced, and upgraded where necessary. The government, thus put, is by the people and for the people. of the people is not really important, but that also exists. To answer what about those places that dont really have democaracy, well, they also are in principle for the good of the whole society, or they are tyranny's. the second case i will (conviniently) leave aside for the time being.

Now in these circumstances, the capitalist movement is that under fair means, a corporation should produce useful goods and earn profit. the better you are at it, the more you earn.

the point of fair pricing is taken over by market dynamics, administered prices and so on. the target being to maintain viable profitability to service and incentivise bussiness machienry. The level of profit is thus linked to fluid metrics, dependant both on market dynamics and your own performance. like what volumes will make you turn profitable, likewise, what profit will you have at different volumes.now what if your ideas go horribly wrong. and for a change, they go wrong on the right side. you end up earning obscene profit. you can call it amazing profits, but i call it obscene because the system works in a balance. if you earn much more than what youwere expected to, you are taking away from someone else. afterall, the sum total of liquid assets is almost constant over short durations of time.

so what happens is that the society has setup means to regulate prices for itself to happily pay based upon expected and constantly updated based on newer expectations. and we are happy to do it. its all guess work, so it can go wrong. and we wont knw till its too late. and whn we do get to knw, we find we were ripped off! cause the basis was a reasonable total profit. not an obscene salary.
and the society is within its rights, because afterall, its the society which is paying the corporation. if the corporation wants to play ball, i knw that the society will throw up some captains. and these guys will probably be in a chain of events that did piss them off a lot.

taking the case of bp, most oil majors make a lot of money. its not a very large percentage, but its huge in absolute terms. thus a little shocking for ordinary people. and when you see that they are making an inordinate profit, every penny of the hike hurts. partly, its ill-information. 'cause the oil major would have loads at stake too. possibile would loose a lot of the money tomm. but today, its a rich scoundrel, cheating away the poor.

and this is as true for capitlist society, as for any other. actually, more so for capitalists. because their basic premise is my own profit. which is, necessarily, someone else's loss. so now you knw why someone shouts,... and now you knw what its getting to be about.

well, this aint a complete discussion, and not a full article. but you are welcome to carry it one. then we'd get to the co-authoring.
